Here are the highlights:
- I went to Madhya Pradesh and I spoke about my mom being unwell. My Mom called and said don't talk about me when you address rallies, she said don't talk about me, talk about yourself.
- We didn't have a house. A friend helped us out with a house. Everyone had deserted us, but Sikhs stood by my grandmother during our difficult times.
- My grandmother's killers were friends, they were my friends. They taught me badminton. And out of anger my friends killed my grandmother.
- I never discussed my opinion on terrorism. I was young when my father and grandmother were killed. I hated spinach and my dad forced me to eat. My grandmother used to eat it up for me secretly, she protected me.
- We were alone after my grandmother lost the elections in 1977 but the Sikh people stood beside us. Why was she killed? Because in people hatred was instilled.
- When I went to Muzzafarnagar and I realised I am not alone. Lakhs of people are victims of terrorism. Hatred has been instilled in people.
- An intelligence officer told me people from Muzzafarnagar want to go to Pakistan and he said he is trying to stop them.
- Why do people fight? They are made to fight for somebody else's gain. I am speaking loudly because I too have suffered. But this country cannot go forward without unity.
- Today is Bhairon Singh Shekhawat's birthday but he was a national leader and not a Rajput leader alone. This country can go forward only if we are together, we have to fight and die together, that will be our strength.
- Five-six people run this country. Your voice needs to reach inside those closed doors. We will make place for the common man inside the political system.
- We can do another kind of politics, of bringing people together. We have made three times the number of roads than the NDA government.
