Koraput:
Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit the Maoist-affected Koraput district of Odisha on Monday to take stock of areas affected by Cyclone Hudhud.
Security has been tightened ahead of his visit.
"As the area is affected by Maoists, elaborate security arrangements will be made. Adequate number of security personnel will be deployed. Things will be clear once we receive the tour report," said Inspector General of Police (south-western range) Y K Jethwa.
"Ahead of his (Gandhi's) visit, the liaising team of Special Protection Group or SPG has arrived in Koraput and all the security aspects are being discussed in detail," he said.
Officials said Mr Gandhi will be protected by three-tier security rings. While the inner security ring will be managed by the SPG, the two outer security rings will be handled by paramilitary forces and state police.
Apart from interacting with farmers at Jeypore, Mr Gandhi is expected to visit cyclone-hit Pottangi and Laxmipur areas, said Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee President Jaydev Jena.
