Kolkata:
Railway minister Dinesh Trivedi has flagged off Kolkata's first air-conditioned double-decker chair-car train.
The train will run between between Howrah and Dhanbad.
The double-decker trains are designed indigenously and run on diesel traction.
They consist of nine coaches including seven AC double-decker chair-cars, with 128 seats in each coach.
With this train, India moves into the league of Europe and North America where multi-deck trains have been a reality for more than a decade.
