Amritsar: Agitating farmers today squatted on railway tracks in the city, affecting trains running between Amritsar to Delhi and Amritsar to Pathankot.
The agitating farmers led by Kisan Sangharsh Committee, were demanding enhancement in existing purchasing price of Basmati rice and a write-off of their existing loans forthwith.
They were also demanding compensation of Rs 10 lakh along with a government job to the next of the kin of farmers who had committed suicide in the past.
