Himachal Pradesh's popular tourist destinations Shimla and Manali received rainfall on Monday, pushing down the temperature by several notches.
Places close to the capital like Kufri and Narkanda have also been experiencing rainfall since morning, according to a MeT official.
Rohtang Pass, just 52 km from Manali, has been covered with snow.
"High-altitude areas of Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, Kullu and Kinnaur districts have been experiencing mild to moderate snow," the official said.
Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti, recorded about three centimeter of snowfall.
Shimla recorded a temperature of 5.6 degrees Celsius, a significant fall from Sunday's 10.5 degrees Celsius, while it was 2.1 degrees in Keylong, 4.5 degrees in Kalpa, 4 degrees Celsius in Manali and 14.8 degrees in Dharamsala.
The weather office said Kullu, Chamba, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti districts would experience more snowfall till Tuesday.
