Chandigarh:
Normal life remained affected in Punjab and Haryana as moderate to heavy rainfall continued to lash the region on Wednesday.
Karnal in Haryana received the maximum rainfall of 39.2 millimetres in the region, followed by Patiala in Punjab 22.3 millimetres and Ambala in Haryana 17.3 millimetres.
Amritsar and Ludhiana in Punjab witnessed rainfall of 10.1 millimetres and 10 millimetres respectively, Met officials said.
The temperature, however, settled above normal in most parts of the region.
In Punjab, Patiala recorded a minimum of 10.3 degrees, up by three notches above normal, Amritsar recorded 8.9 degrees and Ludhiana 5.2 degrees Celsius, they said.
Minimum temperature in Haryana's Narnaul settled at 13.5 degrees, followed by Bhiwani 12.2, Ambala 11.9 and Hisar 10.1 degrees Celsius.
Met department forecasts light to moderate rainfall at isolated places in the region in next 24 hours.
