Rains Lash Parts Of Punjab, Haryana

Chandigarh: Light to moderate rains lashed parts of Punjab and neighbouring Haryana today, bringing respite from the summer heat.

Chandigarh was also lashed by light showers today. In Punjab, Mohali, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Mukerian, Kapurthala, Phagwara, Ropar, among other places received rainfall, a MeT Department official said here. Ambala, Yamunanagar, Faridabad and Panchkula in Haryana also received rains.

After the rains, the mercury dropped by a few notches, the official said.
