Chandigarh : Light to moderate rains today lashed various parts of Punjab and Haryana with bone chilling conditions disrupting normal life in the two states.
Narnual in Haryana was the coldest place in plains at 5.6 degree Celsius. UT Chandigarh received maximum rainfall at 45.7 mm while its minimum remained at 10.2 degree Celsius, four degrees above normal, MeT department in Chandigarh said.
In Haryana, Ambala and Karnal had rainfall at 11 mm and 29.4 mm and both districts registered temperatures at 9.6 degree Celsius and 9.5 degree Celsius respectively.
Hisar recorded minimum temperature at 7.1 degree Celsius.
In Punjab, Patiala saw 31.6 mm rainfall with minimum at 10.2 degree Celsius which is up by 4 degree Celsius. Amritsar and Ludhiana had rainfall at 2.4 mm and 17.4 mm and registered mercury at 8.4 degree Celsius and 8.1 degree Celsius.
MeT department in its forecast said light to moderate rains may occur at few places in Punjab and Haryana in next 24 hours.
