Jaipur:
Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot has appealed to doctors in the state health services to end their strike and resume medical services in public interest. Nine thousand doctors in government hospitals in Rajasthan have gone on an indefinite strike since Wednesday asking for better pay.
"We have tried to resolve it in all ways. They should not have called for such a strike. We need to investigate who is provoding them for such strikes. I think for the interest of the people they should end the strike," said Mr Gehlot.
Medical services and allied treatment at government hospitals have come to a standstill since Wednesday.
The resident doctors in state hospitals are observing a mass strike, demanding parity with their fellow cadres in the federal medical services in terms of pay and other allowances.
