Jaipur:
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje joined thousands of people in performing yoga in Jaipur to mark the International Yoga Day celebrations today.
"Arrangements were made for yoga by around 30,000 people and the stadium looked completely packed," an official said.
"Our Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Health Minister Rajendra Rathore also performed yoga. Yoga gurus were present to teach people. The programme lasted for over 35-40 minutes," the official added.
People reached the SMS Stadium where the main event was organised.
Yoga was also performed in 33 other districts.
The state government official claimed that lakhs of people participated in various programmes across the state.
Over 3,000 officers, soldiers and their families performed yoga asanas at 61 Cavalry Polo ground and rendered their support to the initiative, a press release said.
Ms Raje on Saturday said that yoga makes one stress free and gives relief from worries.
"With the help of the breathing techniques, meditation and simple exercises, a person is always healthy and happy," Ms Raje had said in a statement.
