Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, today, released a coffee table book to mark the historic journey by Rajasthan Police from erstwhile Rajputana to the present state.
Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) A Mukhopadhaya, Director General of Police (DGP) Omendra Bharadwaj and Additional Director General of Police (Armed Battalion) Rajeev Dasot were present on the occasion.
DGP Bharadwaj said that the photographs in the book titled 'Rajasthan Police-Past & Present' seek to bring to the viewer the various facets of policing in Rajasthan.
It also gives a peek into the working of rarely seen wings of police that make it possible for effective discharge of duty by the more visible policemen on the street, he said.
The DGP also said that this book evokes nostalgia and celebrates the present and rededicates Rajasthan Police to the service of the public.
Rajasthan was formed on 30 March 1949. It was earlier called Rajputana.
