Election Results 2023: The elections in Rajasthan were held in a single phase on November 25.

The counting of the votes for the Rajasthan assembly polls, which saw a direct fight between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, began at 8 am today. The BJP is currently leading in the state with the Congress in second place. The elections in the desert state were held in a single phase on November 25. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, leading the Congress, is optimistic that the party will defy the long-standing anti-incumbency trend of Rajasthan. 

The BJP is set to defeat the Congress and return to power, an NDTV poll of polls indicated. The biggest predictions in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party are Republic TV-Matrize, which gives the BJP a massive 115-130 seats, and the Times Now-ETG, which gives it 108-128 seats.

Rajasthan Election Results: Congress Turncoats Lose Seats In Rajasthan
Congress turncoats lost their seats in Bari and Nagaur in the Rajasthan assembly elections on Sunday, the Election Commission's poll data showed.

Girraj Singh Malinga, sitting MLA from Bari who switched over to BJP from the Congress, lost the seat to Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Jaswant Singh Gurjar by a margin of 27,424 votes.

Mr Gurjar secured 1,06,060 votes and was declared winner from the Bari seat.

Hours before the Congress announced the ticket for its Bari seat on November 5, Mr Malinga joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was given the ticket.

Last year, Mr Malinga was accused of thrashing two engineers of the Electricity Department, one of whom is a Dalit. The engineer who belongs to the Dalit community has been bedridden for one year.

Outgoing Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said today that he will serve the state even without holding any political office. 

"The defeat in three states (Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh) is something to be looked into. The problem of "not bringing in new faces" was not there in Chhattisgarh or Madhya Pradesh. So saying that we (Congress) would have won if we had new faces is wrong," he said. 

"I am a Jansevak, I will serve the state even without any post," he added.

As BJP is heading to victory in Rajasthan Assembly polls, Former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Vasundhara Raje on Sunday said the mantra given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayaas' has emerged victorious.

According to the recent trends released by the Election Commission, the BJP is leading on 114 seats in a 200-member Assembly whereas Congress is ahead on 70 seats.

Addressing a press conference in Jaipur, BJP candidate Vasundhara Raje said, "This victory is of the mantra 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayaas' given by PM Modi. It is the victory of the guarantee given by the Prime Minister. It is also the victory of the strategy given by Amit Shah and the able leadership provided by Nadda ji. Most importantly, it's a victory for our party workers."

"People have rejected the misgovernance of Congress and have elected the good governance of BJP," she added.
