Jaipur: Rajasthan government will launch the 'Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan' from January 27 in Jhalawar district.
The decision in this regard was taken at a Cabinet meeting in Jaipur chaired by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
The campaign, which is aimed at improving water availability and making every village self-reliant when it comes to water while also increasing productivity of land, will be launched on January 27 by Ms Raje.
Simultaneously, state ministers will launch the Abhiyan in different districts of Rajasthan, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore said.
Under the first phase of the campaign, 3,563 villages will be made self-reliant in water and the progress of the campaign will be reviewed twice a week, he said.
Besides, the Cabinet also decided to amend the Rajasthan Sudhar Nyas rules along with an increase in the reservation of land allotment for differently-abled persons from the present 2 per cent to 3 per cent.
