Jodhpur : A lower court in Jodhpur has ordered the police to register a case against Rajasthan's Water Resources Minister Mahipal Maderna for his alleged involvement in the case of Bhanwari Devi.
The nurse-cum-midwife Bhanwari Devi went missing on September 2 from Bilara town in Jodhpur after alleging that she had a video of the minister and herself in a "compromising position."
Following this the nurse's husband had filed a complaint of abduction and rape against the minister.
The incident has caused a major embarrassment for the Ashok Gehlot government.
Gehlot refused to comment on the matter saying it was sub-judice.
