Rajasthan Royals move court against BCCI
New Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals have moved the Bombay High Court against the expulsion order issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

A legal battle could affect the fourth season of the IPL.

The Royals took the legal route after BCCI president Shashank Manohar said there was no question on reversing the board's decision expelling the Jaipur team. This despite a letter from the Royals requesting for a meeting to sort out what they called "misunderstandings".

The Rajasthan Royals have issued a statement confirming that they have filed a legal petition. A spokesman said: "We have tried to meet with the BCCI to understand the basis for the termination, which was received without notice. We do not understand what we have done wrong, and it is therefore our duty to the fans of the IPL, our employees, our players and our partners to pursue the matter. The matter is expected to be listed this Wednesday. We would not like to state anything further since the matter is sub judice."

The appeal made by the Rajasthan Royals in the High Court has been filed as Jaipur IPL vs BCCI. The matter is expected to come up in the court of Justice SJ Vazifdar.
