National Institute of Technology, Srinagar was shut down on Friday after clashes between students.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday asked the Jammu and Kashmir authorities to ensure safety of students at the
National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Srinagar where clashes erupted between two groups after the India-West Indies T20 cricket match on Thursday.
"Spoke to Governor Jammu and Kashmir and DGP (director general of police) regarding the situation in NIT Srinagar. I assure the students that they should not worry about their security," Rajnath Singh said.
"I have instructed the DGP Jammu and Kashmir to send a team of officers to NIT Srinagar to assure the students of their safety and security," the home minister added in a series of tweets.
The National Institute of Technology was shut down on Friday till further orders after clashes between students over India's defeat in the semi final clash with West Indies in the ongoing World T20 Cup.
Meanwhile, the
Human Resource Development ministry yesterday said normalcy has been restored at the institute and academic activities would continue on Monday.
