Mumbai Police Chief Rakesh Maria with Lalit Modi in London in 2014

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tweeted on Wednesday that Mumbai police commissioner Rakesh Maria's explanation about his 2014 meeting with former IPL-boss Lalit Modi in London appeared "satisfactory".
Mr Fadnavis tweeted:
Incidentally, Mr Fadnavis was expected to form a "final opinion" by Wednesday evening about the "information" furnished by Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria about his meeting with Lalit Modi in London in 2014, when the Congress-NCP government was in power.
"Rakesh Maria submitted information sought by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to Additional Chief Secretary (Home) K P Bakshi last evening. He is now in the process of examining the report and he will give his final opinion to the CM by this evening," a senior Home Department official had told PTI earlier.
Mr Fadnavis tweeted:
Prima facie explanation of CP Mr.Maria appears satisfactory. However some points need further elaboration. have asked ACS to look into it.
