The preparations for the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya began on January 16 and the idol of Ram Lalla was installed in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday. The main ceremony will be held at the grand temple on January 22.

The general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai, said the Ram temple will be opened for 'darshan' to the general public from January 23. "The entire country is Rammay (obsessed with Lord Ram). The scope of Lord Ram's life, His inspiration, and faith extend far beyond devotion. Lord Ram is a symbol of good governance in social life," Prime Minister Modi said.

Visva-Bharati Declares Half-Day Holiday On January 22

The Visva-Bharati will be closed for half a day on January 22 for the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, an official said.

As per the directive of the Union Education Ministry, all undergraduate and post-gradutate classes of the varsity will be suspended till 2.30 pm, said Visva-Bharati spokesperson Mahua Bandyopadhyay.

2500 Folk Artists Set To Perform On 100 Stages To Welcome Lord Ram

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed the Uttar Pradesh Culture Department to make all preparations to accord a grand welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the 'Pran Pratishtha' of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

To make this occasion grand and historic, 2500 folk artists will perform on 100 stages prepared by the Culture Department. Through various forms of dance, music, and singing, they will showcase the splendour of Treta Yuga in Ayodhya.

Ramotsav in Ayodhya: Folk Dances On Streets Ahead Of Consecration

Folk dances from 'Badhawa' to 'Ghumar', songs dedicated to Lord Ram playing on loudspeakers, streets decked up with flowers, lights and saffron flags and people dressed up as Lord Ram, Sita and Hanuman -- the temple town of Ayodhya is buzzing with activity ahead of the consecration ceremony at the newly constructed Ram temple.

Small stages have been constructed at multiple places on Ram Path which leads to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. Folk dancers from across the country are performing different dances with passersby stopping to make videos and click selfies.

Himachal Pradesh Announces Public Holiday On January 22

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday announced a public holiday on January 22 in view of the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited the Ram temple during the day and also appealed to the people of the state to light earthen lamps at home on the occasion.

"The Central government has announced a half-day holiday on January 22 but we are announcing a full-day holiday...," he told reporters outside the temple.

Jammu and Kashmir Declares Half-Day Holiday, Dry Day For Ram Temple Event

The Jammu and Kashmir administration declared a half-day holiday and a 'dry day' on January 22 on the occasion of the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.

"It is hereby ordered that half-day public holiday (till 02:30 pm) shall be observed on January 22 in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir," an order issued by Commissioner Secretary General Administration Department (GAD) Sanjeev Verma said.

'HanuMan' Movie Distributor Announces Donation Of Over Rs 2.6 Crore

Mythri Movie Makers, one of the distributors of the Teja Sajja-starrer "HanuMan", said would donate over Rs 2.6 crore to the Ram temple, a day before the consecration ceremony in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya.

The company said the film's team had pledged Rs 5 from each ticket of "HanuMan" for the cause. Till now, the Telugu-language movie has sold 53,28,211 tickets, which amounts to Rs 2,66,41,055 as the sum of donation.

'Pran Pratishtha' Of Ram Lalla Like Diwali For All: Mohan Yadav
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya Ram temple on January 22 is like Diwali for all.

Mr Yadav made the remark while addressing the Akhand Ramayana recitation and bhajan competition program organised at Shri Ram Temple located in Anand Nagar in Bhopal on Saturday.

"The occasion of Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22, is like Diwali for all of us. The festival of Dhanteras is celebrated two days before Diwali. Today, Bhopal has been connected to Ayodhya with the celebration of Dhanteras in Shri Ram Temple in Anand Nagar in Bhopal. It is a matter of great pleasure that this programme is taking place in Anand Nagar, where there is joy (Anand), there is Lord Shri Ram," Mr Yadav said.

PAC Barabanki Police Band Perform In Ayodhya Ahead Of Ram Temple Event
Ahead of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Pradeshik Armed Constabulary (PAC) Barabanki Police Band performed at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk.

The Lata Mangeshkar Chowk, named after the legendary Indian playback singer Lata Mangeshkar, marks the intersection of Ram Path and Dharm Path, both of which were decorated with ornamental lamp posts ahead of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22.

UP Top Cop Issues Directions On Security Ahead Of Ram Temple Event
Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Vijay Kumar on Saturday issued directions on security ahead of the Ram Temple 'Pran Pratishtha' at Ayodhya on January 22.

DGP Vijay Kumar said, "A large number of devotees are already present in Ayodhya, who are staying in religious places, Dharamshalas, and Ashrams. The managers of those ashrams should be urged that all the devotees should not go for darshan together. After January 22, arrangements for darshan should be made in order."

He issued a directive that an intensive checking campaign should be conducted at all check posts.

Vijay Kumar said, "Intensive checking should be done on the Indo-Nepal border, the interstate border, and the border of Ayodhya and its adjoining districts."

He said that the services of vehicles related to the supply of essential commodities should not be disrupted. (ANI)

250 UK Temples Gear Up Ahead Of Ram Temple's Pran Pratishtha Ceremony
Slough Hindu Temple, located thousands of miles away from Ayodhya in the heart of England, is brimming with enthusiasm as it is set to celebrate the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

The excitement around the ceremony is palpable in the UK. There are about 250 Hindu temples in the UK and all of them are gearing up for the celebration on January 22.

From community events to car rallies, and from special 'aarti' to 'Akhanda Ramayan' recitation, the Hindu communities and temples in the UK are celebrating the occasion as "2nd Diwali" to mark the 'return' of Lord Rama to his rightful abode.

Scores of volunteers from the Indian Diaspora in the UK (IDUK) organisation are working day in and day out to decorate the temple for the big day when the temple is deemed to receive around 4000-4500 visitors to celebrate the day.

A special 'puja' and bhajan will also be organised on January 22. (ANI)

Devotees Hold 'Shobha Yatra' In Shimla Ahead Of 'Pran Pratsihta' Ceremony
Ahead of the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, devotees gathered and participated in the Shobha Yatra procession here in Shimla.

The procession, which was taken from Kalibari temple to Ram Mandir in Shimla, saw the participation of both men and women.

Both BJP and Congress leaders also participated jointly in the Yatra on the streets of Shimla. Former minister and BJP leader Suresh Bhardwaj told ANI, "In 1990-1992, I was part of Kar Sewa. It is a lifetime experience, as I have also gone to jail to make Ram Temple. On January 22, there will be a Pran Pratishtha at Ram Temple. It is a very glad moment for everyone across the globe, as Lord Ram is a lord for the welfare of all."

Will Organise Program At Jammu's Raghunath Temple, Says Congress' Karan Singh
Ahead of the upcoming 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of Lord Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22, senior Congress leader Dr Karan Singh on Saturday said that the party will organise a big programme at Sri Raghunath Temple in Jammu.

"I am 93 years old, so it is not possible for me to go there (Ayodhya). I am Raghuvanshi and I have donated Rs 11 lakh. We will organise a big program at Sri Raghunath Temple in Jammu," he said.

Meanwhile, Acharya Ramchandra Das, successor of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya, on Saturday said that it's a matter of joy that after 550 years of struggle, the temple of Lord Ram is being built. (ANI)

As the countdown for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Mandir has begun, along with Ayodhya, the Janakpurdham in Nepal, the maternal home of Goddess Sita is now brimming with happiness and enthusiasm, waiting for the occasion with high fanfare and gaiety, organising a slew of events.

Hymns of Lord Ram and Sita are echoing in the city around the clock. The Janaki Temple is decked up with lights, and enthusiasm can be seen on the faces of every Janakpurdham resident.
