The Kapoors are a busy lot and not everyone in the family can make it to their weekly get-togethers at Krishna Raj Kapoor's house. But, as Ranbir Kapoor says, they are always in touch with each other via a WhatsApp group comprising only family members - yes, Ranbir might be social media challenged but he does use WhatsApp. In a video posted
by the makers of his new film Jagga Jasoos, Ranbir reveals that one person in the family group has an annoying WhatsApp style - his sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. His complaint will probably resonate with many of us.
Ranbir says: "I do have a family WhatsApp group and I think the most irritating person on that group would be my sister. Because you know she is the kind of person who doesn't write the entire message in one message...she puts one, one line and your phone keeps beeping. And she uses lots of emojis. I think my father is a one-word person and my mother is very warm." Ranbir and Riddhima are the son and daughter of actors Rishi and Neetu Kapoor. Riddhima, a jewellery designer, lives in New Delhi with her husband Bharat Sahni and
six-year-old daughter Samara.

The sprawling Kapoor clan is the sum of varied parts and every Sunday, a fight breaks out at Krishna Raj Kapoor's home, Ranbir reveals. "We always meet every Sunday at my grandmother's house. The entire family. It starts off with lot of love, lot of warmth but there's always a fight. It's always resolved by the end of the day. You know that other person has to call that person and apologise or send them him a gift," says the 34-year-old actor. Ranbir lived with his grandmother for several months after breaking up with rumoured girlfriend Katrina Kaif last year. He only recently moved into his own apartment, designed by Gauri Khan.
In the interview, Ranbir Kapoor also shares his favourite bit about going out for family dinners as a boy. "
My dad was not around a lot because he was working, we knew he was out. But whenever he was working, we would go out for dinner once a week. And in the car I remember, what I used to look forward to is...my father used to play a quiz with my sister and me. It could be general knowledge, it could be something about us. Usually used to be about food," says Ranbir.
Ranbir, who believes "the family experience is dying out" also reveals how he irritated her sister at the dinner table. Watch the interview here:
Ranbir Kapoor's Jagga Jasoos appears to be as much an adventure caper as it is an emotional potboiler. In the Anurag Basu-directed film, Ranbir plays the titular character, a schoolboy who sets out to find his father who is missing, presumed dead. Katrina Kaif joins the investigation as Jagga Jasoos' accomplice and, together, they turn the world upside down.
Jagga Jasoos hit theatres today.
