Chandigarh:
Former Haryana Director General of Police SPS Rathore, the molester of teenager Ruchika Girhotra, is all set to move the high court for bail plea on Monday.
Rathore's wife and counsel Abha Rathore's bail plea for the three fresh FIRs against her husband was thrown out by the sessions court last week.
On the investigation front, the CBI is likely to take over the case again soon. And in another twist in the case sources in the Haryana Police say the Special Investigation Team has traced the woman whom the Rathores allege is Ruchika's stepmother Veena.
Sources say the police are questioning Veena, but have refused to reveal her current location.
According to sources, Veena told SIT that she got married with Girhotra in November 1990, three months after the molestation and parted ways in 1995, and had cordial relationship with Ruchika. She was in the hospital at the time Ruchika died. Veena who was a widow, met Girhotra in Surajpur Temple in 1989.
When Ruchika died she signed on the inquest report and told SIT no pressure was on her when she signed. Also Ruchika's maternal grandfather and uncle were in the hospital when she died. She has asked for protection of her identity and address.
However, Ruchika's father Subhash Chandra Girhotra has denied that he ever remarried.
The police team has also questioned some witnesses who were present at the hospital when Ruchika died.
