New Delhi: The release date of Raveena Tandon's upcoming film Shab has been postponed by two weeks. The film, which was earlier scheduled for release on June 30, will now hit the theatres on July 14, reported trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Shab will clash at the box office with Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's much-awaited film Jagga Jasoos. The film has been directed by Onir. Shab also features Arpita Chatterjee, Ashish Bisht, Simon Frenay, Gaurav Nanda and Areesz Ganddi in pivotal roles. Shab, which is set in South Delhi, is a story that explores people coming from different walks of life in search of love and to realise their dreams.
The makers of Shab unveiled the trailer of the film last month.

Shab was premiered at the New York Indian Film Festival on May where it received a positive response from the audience.

Shab has been produced by Onir and Sanjay Suri. The film marks his seventh collaboration with Sanjay Suri. They have previously worked together in films like My Brother...Nikhil, Daman, Bas Ek Pal, Sorry Bhai!, I Am and Chauranga.

In an earlier interview with news agency PTI, director Onir revealed that the script of the film was 'originally written for Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Suri.'

"Shab is the first script that I had ever written, almost 13-14 years ago. Interestingly, it was originally written for Raveena and Sanjay, when I had worked with them during the film Daman," PTI quoted Onir as saying.

Raveena Tandon last featured in Ashtar Sayed's Maatr along with Madhur Mittal, Divya Jagdale, Shailendra Goel, Anurag Arora, Saheem Khan and Rushad Rana.
