Red Fort attack: Supreme Court upholds Mohammad Arif's death sentence
New Delhi: Announcing its verdict in the Red Fort attack case, the Supreme Court today upheld the death sentence of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant Mohammad Arif.

Arif, a Pakistani national, had moved Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court, in September 2007, confirmed the death sentence given to him by a trial court.

On December 22, 2000, LeT militants stormed the Red Fort and attacked an Army camp. Their indiscriminate firing had resulted in the death of three Army personnel.

Arif's lawyer has said he will file a petition seeking a review of the Supreme Court decision.
