New Delhi: Actress-turned-MP Rekha, who was nominated to Rajya Sabha a year back, on Tuesday attended the second half of the Budget Session for the first time and exchanged pleasantries with fellow members.

She had come to Parliament to cast her vote for elections to the Committee of Public Undertaking.

When media later approached her with queries about the functioning of Parliament which is in a state of stalemate, she did not respond.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Shukla sought to explain her silence by saying "she is unhappy that Parliament is not functioning".

Rekha was nominated to the Upper House in April last year along with cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar and industrialist Anu Aga.

Sachin Tendulkar did not turn up for voting on Tuesday as he was busy with the IPL season but has said that he will attend the Monsoon Session, Mr Shukla said.
