Amravati: The 67th Republic Day was today celebrated in the Amravati district in Maharashtra with gaiety and enthusiasm.
District Guardian Minister Pravin Pote unfurled the tri-colour in presence of top administrative officers at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Pote said good results of the decisions taken by Devendra Fadnavis-led Maharashtra government for different sections of the society in last one year were becoming visible now.
He said that under 'Jalyukta Shivar Scheme', 4,418 works have been completed in 253 villages of the district while new 294 villages have been identified for this year.
Mr Pote further said around 1.37 crore farmers of the state would be provided insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh each under the late Gopinath Munde Farmers' Accident Insurance Scheme.
According to the minister, a textile park has come up over 500 acres of land with an investment of Rs 713 crore and further investment of Rs 5,000 crore is expected.
