Agra: Lekhpals (revenue officials) in Uttar Pradesh will go on relay hunger strike from September 20 demanding action on their six point charter of demands including laptop for all department officials.
The revenue officials are on strike since August 23 demanding action on their six point charter, but the state government has shown no interest in their demands.
"We have demonstrated in Lucknow, took out marches in districts and held blood donation camps but the Revenue Department senior officials have not responded to our demands," District Lekhpal Sangh chief Bheem Sen said.
To further assert for their demands, the revenue officials will go on relay huger strike from September 20, he said.
The lekhpals are responsible for maintaining revenue records, land records and implement various rural development schemes including widow pensions.
