New Delhi:
Delhi Police on Thursday arrested 4 youth for the murder of 16-year-old Ribhu Chawla, a student of Kumarmangalam Birla school in Delhi who was kidnapped on July 28 and then found murdered a day after. According to the police, Rocky, one of the friends of Ribhu was the mastermind behind the abduction and killing and all of the accused had no criminal history whatsoever.
Rocky, 27, studied up to standard XI; a body builder, fond of betting.
Rishi, a 24-year-old is an English graduate, unemployed and going through a bad marriage.
Manni, 22, studied till standard 8, helped his father in his spare parts business.
And Gaurav, 20-years-old, studied up to Class IX and ran a fast food corner.
They killed Ribhu Chawla for 15 lakh rupees.
All four belonged to decent, lower middle-class backgrounds. None of them did well professionally. But none of them had any criminal history.
That's what is bothering parents and guardians about this murder.
At Ribhu's school, parents said that they can warn children to stay away from criminals, suspicious people and strangers, but what does one do when the attacker has no such tag?
"Advising children is very difficult. We cannot make a child suspicious of every one. We cannot make him unfriendly. He has to grow up as a normal child,'' said Lily Matthew, Principal, K R Mangalam World School.
Scared parents have repeated some basic rules to the kids yet again.
''I have to take permission for everything and make sure I leave with their consent. Without their knowledge, we cannot do anything,'' said Rahul Raha, a student.
''They want us not to make friends outside our circle, and ones older to us. We should have limited friends only,'' put forth Mehraj Singh, another student.
''It's only for our safety. Our parents know the best. It does not bother us,'' said Surya, a student.
