In a Facebook post, Robert Vadra hit out at what he called "false accusations".
Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, was attacked by the ruling BJP today over his alleged links with a company involved in the illegal purchase of land in Rajasthan's Bikaner.
"Skeletons in the cupboard of the Gandhi family are slowly coming out. Vadra sold land in Bikaner to a company that existed only on paper," said BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, addressing a press conference when the Congress was preparing to march to the President's house to protest against what it calls growing intolerance under the current regime.
Mr Patra linked the Sonia Gandhi-led march to Enforcement Directorate raids on Monday on the offices in south Delhi of the company that allegedly bought land from Mr Vadra's firm.
"This Congress march is only when you know that the investigations have come to your doorstep...And because you know that you stand for corruption... that's why this intolerance," Mr Patra said.
"The facts in this case point to a lot of wrongdoing, a process of clever laundering of money. We demand that Congress clarifies the true nature of these transactions. Rather than act disingenuously, Vadra should come out and stop obfuscating on the issue," he added.
The BJP alleges that the land in Bikaner was bought by Mr Vadra's company in 2009-10 for Rs.79 lakh and then sold to a firm called Allegeny Finlease for over Rs.5 crore.
The allegation is that the company the land was sold to exists only on paper.
In a Facebook post, Mr Vadra hit out at what he called "false accusations".
"Here they go again...Whenever they get insecure, they concoct some false accusations on me. The nation is not misguided by their tactics anymore," Mr Vadra wrote.
The 46-year-old businessman has been repeatedly attacked by the BJP over controversial land deals in Haryana.
