Rocket fire from across Pakistan border

Jammu: In another act of provocation by Pakistan, the border town Wagah was woken up a little past midnight by the sound of rocket fire. Four rockets were fired from across the border at 12.40 am on Saturday.

Two rockets landed near Border Security Force (BSF) post at Wagah, while other two landed in a field.

The BSF returned the fire with small arms and mortars, but now it's all quiet now. A flag meeting was held with the Pakistan Rangers right after the incident, where the BSF lodged a strong protest.

Meanwhile, the BSF foiled an infiltration bid at the international border in Paragwal in Jammu and pushed back a group of militants when they tried to cross over.

There was also an exchange of fire between suspected militants and the BSF. However, no one was injured in the firing. Paragwal sector is approximately 40 kms from Jammu.
