RSS chief may spell out a rescue plan for BJP today
New Delhi:

Will the RSS rescue the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from its disarray after a series of explosive revelations by some its top leaders?

On Friday, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is expected to spell out the Sangh's agenda in what will perhaps be the most closely watched press conference.

Bhagwat is reportedly upset about the factionalism and infighting in the BJP. What many are expecting is that Bhagwat may chalk out the roadmap for the BJP.

He's expected to clarify RSS views on contentious issues facing BJP like the significance of ideology for the party. But the big question is - will the prescription work?

Bhagwat is also reportedly keen that the RSS get actively involved in restructuring the BJP.

The RSS chief has already called for a time bound leadership change in the BJP while saying that L K Advani can choose his time of exit.

And just ahead of the press conference, party chief Rajnath Singh met Bhagwat in the capital on Thursday evening, and the meeting between the two lasted for nearly 90-minute.

Sources tell NDTV that Rajnath and Bhagwat discussed the increasing infighting in the party. They minutes of the meeting also included the issues raised by senior party leader Arun Shourie.

Apart from these, the two leaders spoke on Jaswant Singh's expulsion over the controversial Jinnah book.

The sources added that Rajnath Singh briefed Mohan Bhagwat on what happened at BJP's 'Chintan Baithak' in Shimla.
