RSS Demands Action Against Madhya Pradesh Minister Who 'Kicked' a Boy

A grab from the video which purportedly shows BJP leader and lawmaker Kusum Mahdele kicking a boy.

Bhopal: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) today joined the chorus of Congress and Aam Aadmi Paty (AAP) demanding action against Madhya Pradesh Minister Kusum Mehdele, who had allegedly kicked a young boy two days ago triggering a row.

"Ministers should be extra sensitive to public. The Madhya Pradesh government should take a call on Mehdele," RSS MP and Chhattisgarh region chief Ashok Sohani told reporters in Bhopal to a query as to why the government was not acting against her.

The Animal Husbandry Minister is at the centre of a controversy after a video clipping purportedly showing her kicking the boy went viral on November 1.

The purported incident had taken place at a function organised to celebrate Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day near a bus stand in Panna district.

On Monday, senior Congress leader Manish Tewari demanded that Ms Mehdele should be sacked over the issue.

The Aam Aadmi Party, too, had sought her resignation and petitioned the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission for stern action against her.

A day after the incident, Ms Mehdele sought to downplay the incident claiming that the video being played on news channels was an "absolute lie".

"As I was going towards my car, there was a reporter who with a cameraman came to take my interview. I was answering some questions while moving towards my car when somebody fell on my feet.

"Nothing more than this happened. So, I didn't even see his face. I have not seen any video yet. The video being played on various channels is an absolute lie," Ms Mehdele said.

She had also claimed that the boy was "highly" drunk due to which he lost his balance.
