Ludhiana: A Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activist was shot dead in Punjab's Ludhiana this morning by two men in a bike, the police said.
Ravinder Gosain, 60, was shot dead in the Kailash Nagar area when he was on his way home after an RSS 'shakha' or drill in the morning.
Shot at close range, he died on the spot. The attackers have not been identified.
Mr Gosain was a Sangh Pracharak or regional leader of the RSS in Ludhiana.
Last year, another senior Punjab RSS leader, retired Brigadier Jagdish Gagneja, was shot by young men on a bike in a busy area of Jalandhar city. His attackers have not been caught so far.
Mr Gagneja, a senior Vice President of the Punjab unit of RSS, was critically injured and died later in hospital.
