RSS Sacks Goa Chief Who Said BJP 'May Not Win Next State Election'
The RSS has sacked its Goa chief Subhash Welingkar accusing him of working against BJP government
Goa: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has sacked its Goa chief Subhash Welingkar, accusing him of working against the state's ruling BJP.

The action comes a week after an organization run by Mr Welingkar showed black flags to BJP chief Amit Shah during his visit to Goa.

"Subhash Welingkar has been removed from his post with immediate effect for faulting a political outfit and working against Goa government," RSS leader Manmohan Vaidya was quoted as telling the news agency IANS.

The RSS is the ideological mentor of the BJP.

Mr Welingkar had said on Monday that the BJP may not win the election in Goa next year since it had "betrayed" people's trust by going back on its promise of regional languages as a medium of instruction in schools.

The leader has been campaigning against government grants to English medium schools.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Welingkar also said the group he heads to promote regional languages would form a new party along with the RSS unit in Goa, to defeat the BJP.
