RSS to stage nation-wide stir against government 'conspiracy'

Jaipur: RSS will hold country-wide agitation to protest the "political conspiracy" against it by both the
central and the state governments on alleged Hindu terror.

Dharnas (sit-in) will be staged at all district headquarters, senior RSS leader Ram Madhav said at a press conference at Jaipur on Monday.

"The two-hour dharna will be peaceful in all districts, including in Rajasthan, and respective RSS units will submit a memorandum to Prime Minister through district collectors," he said.

"RSS has not asked any political party to join the protest, but we have appealed to patriotic people to support us in a big way," he said.

Referring to RSS functionary Indresh Kumar, who has been named by the Rajasthan ATS in Ajmer Blast case, Madhav said the dharnas are intended to create public awareness by exposing the baseless charges against the saffron outfit and the politically motivated conspiracy to defame Hindu beliefs and Hindu sentiments.

"RSS always supported the investigating agencies and it was not against any such probe related to blasts which occurred in parts of the country, but the charge sheet filed by the ATS in Ajmer blast case wrongly projects every accused as an RSS activist while the fact remains that none, except Devendra Gupta, one of the six accused, had anything to do with RSS for last several years," Madhav said.

"Similarly, the way the name of a senior RSS functionary Indresh Kumar has been dragged smacks of a sinister conspiracy. The charge sheet neither presents any evidence nor makes any specific charges against him. It clearly shows that there is some conspiracy to implicate Indreshji in this case thus damaging his reputation and that of the organisation," he said.

Madhav alleged that as soon as the charge sheet was filed in the Ajmer court, some senior leaders in Rajasthan and the Congress party have gone overboard by making irresponsible
statements against Indresh and the RSS.

"It culminated in the AICC passing a resolution casting aspersions against the RSS. There was also an attempt to revive the bogey of an oxymoron called Hindu/Saffron terror. In fact the credit for giving birth to this oxymoron goes to the Union Home Minister who had raised this bogey in a speech a couple of months ago," a release issued at the press conference said.

On Congress leader Rahul Gandhi comparing of RSS with banned terror outfit SIMI, Madhav said, "It was just an ignorance of the youth leader. SIMI is working against Indian constitution, whereas RSS is a constitutional organisation and there should be no comparison."
