Porbandar: An RTI activist, Bhagu Devani, has been attacked in Porbandar in Gujarat.
Seventy-two-year-old Devani was stabbed on Friday morning. According to his complaint to the police, around five to six people stopped his car, and after an altercation stabbed him thrice. The activist has accused a former BJP minister and two others for the attack.
He alleged that the attack was aimed at stopping him from filing RTIs against illegal construction.
Four people have been arrested for the attack on the RTI activist.
"Everyone knows that I had filed an application on two subjects; firstly, against the illegal construction of a hotel and secondly against the building coming up in Chhaya Nagar, and I feel that I have been attacked because of this," said Bhagu Devani.
