RTI activist's murder probe: Family demands CBI inquiry

Ahmedabad: Is the Gujarat police getting cold feet in the investigations into the murder of RTI activist Amit Jethwa? That is the question, the Jethwa family is asking. The family has demanded a CBI inquiry.

Amit Jethwa's father claims that with a BJP MP from Junagadh, Dinu Solanki being  named, the police investigations were not in right earnest.

It's been four days since Jethwa was shot dead in Gujarat. However, no leads on the killer yet. Jethwa's family says, they will settle for nothing less than a CBI inquiry.(Gujarat: RTI activist Amit Jethwa shot dead)

 "It has been four days since Amit's murder, but no leads have come yet. I have faith on the Gujarat police but even four days back I had requested the government to call for a CBI inquiry. I want justice," said Bhikhubhai Jethwa, Amit's father.

Even as the entire Khambha village in Junagadh mourns Amit's death, Solanki remains untraceable.(RTI activist killed for campaign against BJP MP, says family)

Police claim they have leads which point to the Junagadh connection but no arrest has been made so far.

For the family, already grieving the loss of its dear son, apart from the pain and trauma, its anger that is mounting.
