Chandigarh:
The Centre has questioned several anomalies that were overlooked in the corridors of power which helped former Haryana DGP Rathore to remain at the helm in the Ruchika molestation case.
The top cop was given six months in prison for molesting the 14-year-old budding tennis player who later committed suicide.
The Centre is now considering taking action. It is exploring whether Rathore should be stripped of his police medal, which he was awarded in 1985.
The government has also reportedly decided to serve a show cause notice asking why he should get full pension even after being convicted for Ruchika Girhotra's molestation.
Several key questions that arising now are who recommended Rathore for the police medal and how did he get a clean chit on integrity?
The CBI has decided to file an appeal for stringent sentence for Rathore.
