Panchkula:
Immediately after SPS Rathore was granted interim bail, NDTV spoke to Ruchika's family's lawyer Pankaj Bharadwaj who said they will oppose this interim bail.
Here is the full interview:
Q. What is your first reaction to Panchkula sessions court's decision to give interim anticipatory relief?
A. See, the court is certainly in power to give relief but it is absolutely for five-six days. We will appear on the next date of hearing, we were not in the position to oppose his bail in any manner. And whatever grounds they have taken are all baseless. Like one of the lawyers was asking me about Bina Girhotra. There has not been any lady as such. Now, the suggestion which was given in the court at Patiala is repeated in the court, and no document has been presented. By the next stage, we will be presenting each and every document and you will see that they don't stand anywhere.
Q. Is it that you are trying to say that you were not the party and that is why they got away with the interim relief?
A. The court, till the time we appeared or present our case, normally whatever they are saying or presenting is correct. We will on the next day of hearing show very clearly that Mrs. Rathore has today also tried to mislead the court.
Q. Will you oppose this interim relief?
A. Certainly. We will oppose because the grounds taken by them are absolutely wrong. One of the grounds taken by them is that Mr. Girhotra got married to Bina Malhotra.
Q. Can he be arrested if the Panchkula court decides to register an FIR on section 306, the fresh complaint which was submitted yesterday?
A. Certainly, if the Panchkula court wants to arrest him, there is a third FIR in which if he has not got any protection, he can be arrested.
Q. Third FIR yet to be registered?
A. That's why, that is what I am saying, if they register an FIR, and want to arrest him, that can be done.
Q. But for other two FIRs, he can't be arrested?
A. He can't be arrested till 6th, till the time of interim relief.
Q. And the next hearing would be?
A. 6th, I've just come to know. We have to appear on 6th.
Q. And he is on interim relief till January 7?
A. It is up to January 7.
