Bhubaneshwar: The Orissa Assembly was adjourned for 20 minutes during question hour on Monday after angry Opposition trooped into the well of the House.
This happened after a minister passed a provocative remark and a ruling party MLA suggested the involvement of Opposition MLAs in tender fixing in irrigation projects. The Opposition MLAs rushed to the well demanding the remark be expunged.
One of the Congress MLAs, Santosh Singh Saluja, snatched the pen-stand on the Speakers table and threw it.
Though the pen stand did not hit anyone but the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLAs accused Saluja of trying to attack the Speaker.
MLA Saluja later expressed regrets over his action.
