External Affairs Minister S M Krishna today met his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar at a reception hosted by the Pakistan mission to the United Nations.
The meeting at the social event between the two foreign minister was a brief one.
Indian envoy to the UN Hardeep Singh Puri had earlier said that the "possibility" of a meeting between Krishna and Khar in a social set-up "is very likely."
"There will be situations where they will meet at social events, various receptions, most certainly," Puri had said.
Khar will address the United Nations General Assembly later today.
