Sai Baba improving, say doctors
Puttaparthi: Doctors attending to Sathya Sai Baba say his condition is improving.  

The man who is worshipped by millions across the world as a godman and spiritual guru was admitted to hospital on March 28 with a serious lung infection. For the next few days, he was reported to be in critical condition.

Today, doctors in Puttaparthi said that his kidneys are recovering and that while he is still on a ventilator, he is in stable condition.

"Sri Sathya Sai Baba continues to be on ventilatory support for respiration. His kidney function is being supported by CRRT. There is some positive sign of recovery in the functions of the kidneys. He continues to be on treatment in the ICF of the hospital where visitors are not allowed," said a health bulletin from his doctors at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning.

There is a sense of relief now in this town, many say their prayers for Sai Baba have been answered.

Shops which had remained closed for the last few days have now re-opened.

Authorities have allowed public transport buses to operate from the bus complex at the Prasanthi Nilayam.
