New Delhi:
A Delhi court will hear the chargesheets filed by the CBI against former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case. This is the first time the CBI has chargesheeted Sajjan Kumar.
The first chargesheet pertains to the killing of five people in the Delhi Cantonment area. The second chargesheet relates to the death of many people in riots in Sultanpuri. The CBI also filed a closure report in a case of riots in Mangolpuri area.
The CBI filed the chargesheets after Delhi Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna gave it the go-ahead last month to prosecute Sajjan Kumar in four cases of murder and communal rioting during the 1984 anti-Sikh carnage.
