New Delhi: He's been missing for days, but on Wednesday, the Ex-Congress MP Sajjan Kumar accused in the anti-Sikh riots cases, appeared before a Delhi Court and got bail almost immediately bringing the focus back on the lapses in this case.
"He got bail, so he came. Before that he hoodwinked his Personal Security Officer and absconded. Such is the irony, that security officer has been suspended and Sajjan Kumar has been set free,'' said Babu Singh Dukhiya, a 1984 anti-Sikh riots victim.
"We have challenged the Delhi High Court decision to give Sajjan Kumar bail. He was absconding. That's an important factor the High Court has ignored. He should not have got bail in the first place,'' said H S Phulka, a lawyer for 1984 anti-Sikh riots victim.
Kumar will now have to appear in court along with the other accused for every hearing of the case. But the question the victims' families are asking is how is it that despite two non-bailable warrants against him, Sajjan Kumar didn't have to go to jail for even a day?
