New Delhi:
Union Minister of State for Minority as well as Corporate Affairs, Salman Khurshid, will be the minister-in-waiting during US President Barack Obama's India visit.
The minister-in-waiting, a ceremonial facet of any Head of State visit, accompanies the visiting dignitary to all important events.
Khurshid will receive Obama at the Mumbai airport and accompany him to all the functions there as well as in New Delhi.
Obama will be in India from November 6-9. He will be accompanied by Us First Lady Michelle Obama, who will break away from Barack Obama at two points during the trip.
The First Lady will be attending two events on her own - one in Mumbai and the other in Delhi.
On November 6 in Mumbai, the First Lady will meet young volunteers of "Make a Difference" at the University of Mumbai library."Make a Difference" is a youth volunteer network, working for the orphans and unprivileged kids in India.
In Delhi on Monday, Mrs Obama will tour the National Craft Museum with girls supported by Project Nanhi Kali, an NGO project dedicated to primary education of underprivileged girl child.
