Lucknow:
A youngster was killed when a worker of Uttar Pradesh's ruling Samajwadi Party opened fire during a marriage in Auraiya district, police said.
Police identified the assailant as Suleman, a local Samajwadi Party leader. The deceased was the cousin of the bridegroom and was hit by the stray bullet in Khanpur when the marriage procession was going for the wedding.
Suleman's pistol has been confiscated. Police said he held a valid license for it.
On Monday, the Samajwadi Party leadership had warned trigger-happy party workers after television channels showed their party workers firing in the air as they welcomed Amroha legislator Mahboob Ali, now a state minister.
