Samajwadi Party (SP) today suspended its legislator Ruchiveera and expelled her husband and three other leaders for "anti-party" activities during the panchayat polls.
Mr Ruchiveera, who was suspended, is legislator from Bijnor.
Her husband Udayan Veera, former lawmaker Yashveer Singh and party leaders Jamil Ansari and Khalil-ur-Rehman have been expelled from the party, SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said in a release issued in Lucknow.
These leaders were involved in "anti-party activities" in district panchayat polls, he added but did not elaborate.
Earlier, the party had sacked two leaders Sunil Yadav alias Sajan and Anand Bhadauria, who are said to be close associates of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Mr Sajan was national president of SP Chhatrasabha, while Mr Bhadauria was former national president of Lohia Vahini.
Another SP leader Subodh Yadav, son of party legislator from Etah Rameshwar Yadav, was also expelled on charges of indulging in anti-party activities.
