A headless body of a 55-year-old man was found in Odisha's Sambalpur village on Tuesday which led police to form forensic team and carry out searches using dog squads.
"The man was sleeping inside a mosquito net outside his house last night. In the morning, his family members spotted his headless body and informed the police about it," Bhawani Shankar Udgata, police officer was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.
Hours later, Ujjala Munda walked inside the police station with severed head of his cousin Satyanarayan Munda.
Police said he killed his cousin in sleep and ran away with his head in the morning.
He has been arrested on charges of murder. The weapon of murder has also been seized.
Police suspect past enmity to be the reason behind the crime.
