Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik's Santa Claus sculpture has got a place in the Limca Book of Records as the world's largest sand sculpture.
Mr Patnaik said that Limca Book senior editor Arthy Muthanna Singh informed him today that his 45-foot-tall Santa Claus was declared as the world's largest sand Santa.
Mr Patnaik had created the sculpture at the Puri beach on the eve of Christmas.
Mr Pattnaik, who was assisted by 20 of his students from the Sudarsan Sand Art Institute of Puri, took 22 hours to build the mammoth structure, which will be on display till January 1.
He had also created sculptures of Jesus and Mother Mary near Santa Claus.
