The Ayesha Siddiqui row which threatens to derail their wedding plans has hardly dampened the spirits of either Sania Mirza or Shoaib Malik who went out for a drive with family members late Monday night.
After jointly addressing a packed press conference in the evening, the couple, which plans to tie the knot on April 15, enjoyed a night out with Sania's younger sister Anam and another family member long after journalists camping outside the tennis star's house had left.
Sania and Shoaib's fairytale romance has turned into a legal nightmare for the Pakistani cricketer, who has been accused of marrying and dumping another Hyderabad girl Ayesha Siddiqui without a formal divorce.
Shoaib's passport was taken by the police after a two-hour questioning on Monday following an FIR lodged by Ayesha alleging fraud and criminal intimidation by the all-rounder.
Shoaib has denied the charges and has claimed that it was Ayesha, who actually cheated him by fooling him into a phone marriage after sending photographs of some other woman.
Allegations and counter-allegations from both sides have cast a shadow over the wedding and there is speculation that it might even be postponed to a later date.
Sania, meanwhile, has backed Shoaib to the hilt, insisting that she knows the truth behind the spiraling controversy.
