Sarabjit Singh critical: candle light march for his recovery
Amritsar: Joined by the daughter and wife of Sarabjit Singh, Indian death row prisoner in Pakistan who is battling for life after being assaulted by jail inmates, a human rights body on Saturday took out a candle light march in Amritsar praying for his recovery.

The activists of Akhil Bharatiya Human Rights Organisation (ABHRO) and Sarabjit's family prayed for his early recovery.

ABHRO Secretary General H S Tanwar said Sarabjit must be shifted to a good medical facility abroad as the Pakistan hospital might not be well equipped to handle critical cases like his.

Dalbir Kaur, Sarabjit's sister, said she has been granted fifteen days visa along with three other family members to visit her brother in Pakistan.

Ms Kaur, along with her daughters Poonam, Swapandeep Kaur and Sukhpreet Kaur, wife of Sarabjit Singh, would be travelling to Pakistan on Sunday morning.

Sarabjit was admitted to state-run Jinnah Hospital in Pakistan and is currently in ICU.

The attack reportedly occurred while he was being moved from one cell to another. He sustained a severe head injury.

After his condition worsened, he was taken in an ambulance to Jinnah Hospital.
