Amritsar: Dalbir Kaur, sister of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh who is on death row in Pakistan, will cross over to the neighbouring country on Monday to meet her brother in Kotlakpathrai prison in Lahore.
She will cross over through the Attari border before noon to meet her brother, known as Manjit Singh in Pakistan.
The Indian Deputy High Commissioner and Sarabjit's advocate Owais Sheikh would take her to Kotlakpathrai prison, Kaur said.
With tears rolling down on her cheeks, she said "I am heading to Pakistan on a month's visa. On reaching Lahore, my priority will be to see my brother Sarabjit in the jail."
"I will prefer to spend maximum time with my brother. However, this will depend on the time-limit granted by the prison authorities," Kaur said.
"During my stay there, I will also meet Pakistans top human rights activists Ansar Burney and Asma Jahangir who are frantically trying for the safe repatriation of my brother to India," Kaur said.
"I will also try to meet Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik. He may try to arrange my meeting with the top leadership including President Asif Ali Zardari," she said.
"I will also carry home food, new clothes, footwears, bath soaps, tooth pastes, towels and medicines for Sarabjit since my brother through his advocate Owais has demanded these things which are rarely available to him," Kaur said.
"I will also carry Indian sweets, chocolates, soft drinks, Odomos (mosquito killer), dry tea, dry fruits, pickles and body oil for him."
Sarabjit Singh, called Manjit Singh in Pakistan, was sentenced to death for a string of bomb blasts in Lahore and Multan in 1990 in which 14 people were killed.
He was set to be hanged on April one, 2008 but the execution was put off after Prime Miniter Yousuf Raza Gilani intervened.
